CONNECTED EYEWEAR
A fashion-first study of intelligent eyewear, where the technology disappears into the frame.
INNOVATION
Connected eyewear has spent a decade looking like equipment. The current generation moves the other way: the electronics are pushed into the temple arms and bridge, leaving a frame that can be judged the way any other accessory is judged — by proportion, material and how it sits on a face.
The design problem is weight distribution. Batteries and speakers are heavy at the ends, so frames are being rebalanced with lighter fronts, deeper temple sections and hinge geometry borrowed from optical eyewear rather than consumer electronics.
What matters for fashion is restraint. The most convincing pieces read as eyewear first and hardware second — and that is the standard FASHION3000 applies when tracking this category.
