DESIGNING WITH MACHINES
Generative tools are entering the studio as instruments, not authors.
INNOVATION
Design teams are using generative systems early — in silhouette exploration, print development and colour work — where speed of iteration matters more than resolution.
The value is volume of options. A designer can see a hundred variations of a shoulder line in the time it once took to draw three, then bring the chosen direction back into pattern-cutting and toiling by hand.
Authorship stays human. The garments that work are the ones where the machine widened the search and a designer made the decision.
